Wimbledon RFC Stick To Their Game Plan

Shelford 17 v Wimbledon 45

National League 3 South

In wet, greasy conditions Wimbledon nonetheless stuck to their attacking game plan to win 17-45 and inflict on Shelford their first home defeat of the season on December 10.

Playing probably their best 40 minutes of the season they notched up a four-try bonus point before half time, with prop Bradley Ugodulunwa scoring the first after just three minutes. Scrum half Rhys Morgan broke through to score the second, followed by a third from centre Aaron Lowe and the fourth by wing Finn Taylor on his debut.

Wimbledon eased up a little in the second half but still added a try each for prop Josh Bayford and flanker Steve May. Fly-half Bryan Croke converted six out of six and added a penalty.

Wimbledon 2nd XV had a resounding win too, also away at Shelford, romping home 5-38.

Next week Wimbledon are at home to Sutton & Epsom, and will want to repeat their convincing away win against their old foes early in the season.
