Police and council tackle anti-social behaviour
Police and council staff have been working together to ensure Halloween and Bonfire Night don't spook anyone in the borough.
There were 51 anti-social incidents in Merton over a 13-day period around the same season last year and tackling this type of behaviour is a priority for the two authorities.
One key action will be late night patrols being run by the police and Merton Priory Homes' neighbourhood wardens until November 7.
These will take place around key areas in the borough on the main fireworks display evenings on November 5 and 6.
The council's youth engagement teams will also be working alongside the emergency services to talk to young people in schools about enjoying this time of year safely.
