Man Arrested For Malachi Brooks Murder In Surrey Lane


As police continue to appeal for more information about the fatal stabbing

A 21-year-old man was arrested this morning (April 26th) on suspicion of murdering Malachi Brooks In Surrey Lane on March 28th. He was taken to a south London police station and has since been released on conditional bail.

Meanwhile Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old Mr Brooks are continuing to appeal for information.

Police were called on Tuesday March 28th just after 1am to reports of a man having been stabbed on Surrey Lane.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found Malachi Brooks suffering stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene just before 2am.

A post-mortem examination took pace later that day and gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

Detective Inspector Tony Lynes, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a brutal attack on a young man. The investigation continues and we continue to appeal to anybody who was in the area at around the time of the attack - from 00:45am onwards - or who lives nearby and may have seen or heard something to come forward and speak to officers as soon as possible."
