Wimbledon Property Sales - April 2012
Average house price rises back towards peak levels
In April 2012, there were 65 properties sold in the SW19 area, changing hands for an average price of £571,720.
This the highest monthly average this year but still below the levels seen last Summer.
There have been seven properties sold for over a million pounds during the month the most expensive of which was on Ridgway Place which sold for £3,225,000.
The April data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 1% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £160,417.
London remains the best performing area in the country with prices rising by 5.1% to £360,721 over the same period.
The most up-to-date figures available show that, the number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in February 2012 decreased by 3 per cent to 462 from 478 in February 2011.

The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database.
