A “world of wellness” is coming to Wimbledon for four days this month with the I-CANN Health & Well-being Festival at Cannizaro Park.

The first event of its kind for the Grade II listed park off Wimbledon Common takes place in August on Saturday 15th & 22nd and Wednesday 19th & 26th.

The Friends of Cannizaro Park promise Laughter Yoga to Family Yoga, Mood Enhancing Meditation to Breathwork Therapy and much more. A total of 18 different classes will be held in a safe and socially distanced environment around the park’s Italian Garden.

With a programme spanning the practices of Yoga, Pilates, Osteobreathe and Meditation, and led by specialists who will be positively addressing a wealth of health and well-being concerns, they say there is something for everyone regardless of age or ability.

Dedicated family classes allow parents to involve their children, according to age group, at no extra cost. Tickets are available online and spaces are limited, so advance booking is recommended.

Laughter Yoga Master Trainer Lotte Mikkelsen will help you discover the effect the release of chemicals triggered from Laughter Yoga can have on your immune response, stress relief and general relaxation.

If you want to feel less overwhelmed and more energised and available to yourself and others, Osteobreathe Breathwork Therapy could be for you. Join Kerry Dowson in this new approach that combines osteopathy and breathwork to bring about a sense of wellness, tension release and general well-being.

Her recent work has included online NHS consultations with recovering COVID-19 patients to help retrain their dysfunctional breath.

Whether you’ve been active or stuck at your desk during lockdown, Yoga For Runners & Walkers with Tish Dodson or Pilates For Posture with Jacqueline Pye, respectively, could be the antidote to any ailments or bad habits you may have picked up.

And if you just want to find a moment to cut through the clutter of the current environment to stop it draining your energy so much, the Mood Enhancing Manifesting Meditation will teach you some techniques to help you clear a pathway to focus on your priorities in life.

The I-CANN Health & Well-being Festival runs all day on Saturday 15th and 22nd and from 3pm-7pm on Wednesday 19th and 26th. Classes are priced at £10 each and all participants must be over 18, except for Family Yoga, where ages are indicated. Tickets for Family Yoga classes cover one adult and one accompanying child per single ticket. Please bring your own mat or rug.

Hotel du Vin Wimbledon, located within Cannizaro Park, will be open for healthy refreshments throughout. For full programme and booking details see: I-CANN Health & Well-being Festival.
