A Radical Walk Through Wimbledon's Past

A rare chance to find out more about the people who forged local history

Williams Morris

Between 1881 and 1896 William Morris and the artist Edward Burne-Jones had workshops in Wimbledon, where they advocated Arts & Crafts ideals and the fair treatment of workers.

Join Peter Walker on his informative tour about the roots of Wimbledon’s socialism and uncover the people who forged our radical local history. The walk, which takes place on Sunday September 8, also tells the story of Wimbledon’s radical suffragettes.

Peter Walker’s Radical Walks during the October Wimbledon Bookfest are already sold out, but he is running this walk in aid of learning disability charities. The walk costs £15 – email peter@vistaevents.co.uk to book.

Meeting point: William Morris House, 267 The Broadway, SW19 2SD at 2pm on September 8. Ends at the Leather Bottle pub, Kingston Road.
