Atomic bombing anniversary is marked
A seven-mile pink peace scarf will be unrolled between Aldermaston and Burghfield on Saturday August 9 - the 69th anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki.
Wimbledon knitters have booked a coach which
will leave from outside New Wimbledon Theatre (in Russell Road) at 8am on August 9.
Wimbledon's 200 metres of scarf will join contributions from all the country and all over the world.
Local coordinator Joanna Bazley said: "Weapons of mass destruction have no place in civilised 21st century."
Contact Joanna on 020 8543 0362 if you want a place on the coach.
