Wimbledon Knife Amnesty Bin Is Back In Business

Police aim to reduce the supply and access of weapons

A knife amnesty bin has been put in the front entrance of Wimbledon police station as part of the Met's latest anti-crime initiative.

The Operation Sceptre campaign has the aim of reducing knife crime and the number of families affected by knife crime across the whole of London.

It seeks to target not only those who carry and use knives, but also the supply, access and importation of weapons.

If you have information about anyone carrying or using knives contact your local police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always dial 999.

The amnesty bin in the Queens Road police station has already received a large number of knives, with the local force taking this photograph (below) after emptying their bin earlier this week.
