Charity supporter stages hunger banquet
Oxfam supporter Kate Kirkland is staging a 'Hunger Banquet' in Wimbledon to help fund the charity's work with women across the world.
It takes place on Thursday March 8, which is International Women's Day, at the Upper Hall, Sacred Heart Church on Edge Hill.
Organisers say the event, which runs from 12.30pm-2.30pm, will be full of surprises. With guest speakers from Oxfam GB and the Jesuit Development Mission and the chance to preview some of the canvases from the 'Birth Rights' campaign.
Oxfam says one billion people go to bed hungry each night, with two-thirds of those, women and girls.
To book tickets, which cost a £10 donation, visit the church bookshop or pre-book for collection and purchase on the door by calling the bookshop on 020 8946 0305. All cheques should be payable to Oxfam GB. You can also book tickets by Kate Kirkland on kate_kirkland@btinternet.com.
All tickets must be purchased or pre-booked by Tuesday March 6 for catering purposes.
