Local firms are shortlisted for top awards
Two Wimbledon-based Indian eateries have been shortlisted for a national curry award.
K2 Indian Takeaway, from Durnsford Road, Wimbledon, has been shortlisted in the Takeaway of the Year category in the English Curry Awards. Last year it was awarded best Takeway in London.
While Khanage in The Broadway, Wimbledon, has been nominated for the Best New Restaurant award.
Al Ahmed, Manager of K2, said: "It is fantastic to reach the finals for two consecutive years. We hope to continue on from the success of winning Takeaway of the Year for London last year. Once again, it is thanks to the support and nominations of our customers that we are at the English Curry Awards again."
Yasmin Mahmood, Operations Director for event organisers Oceanic Consulting expressed: "Each year the awards have grown from strength to strength, as we see an increase of nominations for those hidden gems as well as the better known curry houses. All the finalists are truly deserving and we wish everyone the best of luck."
The Awards night in Manchester on Monday (October 13) will also help raise funds for the official charity partner The Well Foundation. For more information visit www.lovecurry.info.
