With many cards and presents to open Mary was especially delighted to receive an autographed Wimbledon 2019 programme with a personal message from her tennis hero Roger Federer. The birthday girl, said her secret to long life is living happily in Wimbledon Beaumont for nearly 15 years.
Among those relatives attending was Morag her daughter who played host with a beautifully cake decorated with pictures of her favourite things including Gone with the Wind and John Wayne. Speaking about her centenarian mother Morag said: “Mary is and has been a fantastic mother and friend to so many over the past hundred years, and it’s wonderful to be with her on this very special day to say just how proud she makes us feel.”
Gayane Selimyan, General Manager of Barchester Wimbledon Beaumont in Arterberry Road added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reaches this amazing milestone.
