Police appeal for information after hit-and-run
Police are appealing for information after the driver of a car that collided with a family of four in West Barnes failed to stop at the scene.
On Sunday (January 10) police were called at around 9.10am to reports of a car in collision with pedestrians on Burlington Road, near the junction with West Barnes Lane.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and the pedestrians - a family of four; two children (boys aged 18-months and three years old) and their parents - were taken to a south London hospital.
The mother, aged 31, was treated for a broken leg. The father, 27, was treated for bruises to his back and later discharged along with the children who fortunately suffered only minor injures.
The driver of the car - a red Fiat Punto registration YH55 HWV - did not stop at the scene. The car was found abandoned later the same day near Onslow Road in New Malden with damage to its front.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them via 101, or to give information anonymously at Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
