Aim to address issues faced by voluntary sector
An inaugural voluntary sector conference is to be held in Wimbledon on Monday (March 14) with a theme of sustainability – collaboration and partnerships.
Organisers say austerity measures have seen the rise of many challenges for the sector, and the conference will attempt to address the sector's questions with workshops and speakers including the keynote speaker, Rob Wilson MP, Minister for Civil Society.
Other speakers include Dagmar Zeuner, Director of Merton Public Health, Fitzroy Dawson, CEO of Merton Community Transport and James Banks, CEO of Greater London Volunteering.
Khadiru Mahdi, CEO of MVSC said: "It's events like these that help bring us all together to celebrate, communicate and collaborate."
The conference will offer networking opportunities for organisations working within Merton as over 20 organisations will be exhibiting. It's also a chance to get involved in the big debates that affect the sector and determine how they want to address the challenges and opportunities ahead.
