"Make Saturdays A Fun Learning Day"

Merton Adult Education launches its summer courses

Brand new courses - including some on Saturdays - are being run during the summer term by Merton Adult Education.

Enrolment is open for new courses including upholstery, upcycling, buying and selling online, modern foreign languages and computerised accounting.

These are in addition to a range of other short courses beginning in the summer term, which starts on April 19. All of the courses will be run at South Thames College’s Merton campus in London Road, Morden.

Head of Adult Community Education at South Thames College, Haifa Abdul Amir said: “These exciting courses have been carefully scheduled to fit around learners' busy weeks so they can continue their education. With such a wide range of high quality courses, from clothes making to accounting, there really is something for everyone to make Saturdays a fun learning day.”

Merton Council’s Cabinet Member for Community and Culture, Councillor Nick Draper said: “These brand new courses will give residents even more opportunities to learn new skills or take up a new hobby. The Saturday classes are ideal for residents who work full-time during the week and it is great to see that some exciting new course subjects have been added to the summer term timetable.”
