A range of events on our doorstep in SW20
The annual MyRaynesPark festival, The annual Raynes Park Festival, which has been back for another year of live music, drama, entertainment and fun, concludes this weekend. Forthcoming events include:
On Saturday (July 1) there will be an evening of theatre and discussion on the vital subject of the current refugee crisis, held at St Saviours, Grand Drive, starting at 7.30 pm. Attic Theatre Company will be taking part and Cambridge Inter-faith Program will present scriptural reasoning.
Starting at the same time, The Jigsaw Players will present a programme of Mozart, Schubert and Schumann in St Matthew’s Church, Durham Road.
Earlier tomorrow (July 1), at 11 am, the same venue will host Bach to Baby, the critically acclaimed concert series for ‘baby and you’.
The festival will conclude on Sunday (July 2) with a four-hour Raynes Lark in the Park at Holland Garden, Cambridge Road, from 12.30pm and a free concert by the barnstorming Cable Street Collective at The Cavern in Coombe Lane, starting at 8pm.
MyRaynesPark Festival, which has been running and going from strength to strength for seven years, is organised by Raynes Park Community Church in partnership with local organisations, businesses and friends, with the support of Merton Council.
The day after the festival concludes (Monday 3 July) everyone is welcome to share ideas for future festivals at an informal meeting at Mora Meza restaurant at 8pm.
