Music, drama and entertainment
The 2015 Raynes Park Christmas Festival takes place on Friday (December 4), while in Wimbledon Village the lights are switched on at 4pm on Saturday (December 5).
The switching on of the Christmas lights in Raynes Park will be marked with an afternoon of live music, drama, entertainments and fun for all the family.
There will be a live nativity show outside Waitrose. Children can come to pet the donkeys, sheep and goats, plus watch the nativity characters from the Lantern Theatre Company acting out the Christmas story.
There are two main stages, featuring performances by local school choirs from Holly Mount, West Wimbledon, Sacred Heart and Raynes Park High schools. There’ll be entertainment provided by Rosie Chesson Dance and Dantastic Children’s Entertainment. And on top of that we’ve got performances lined up from the West Barnes Singers, the Wimbledon Choral Society and the Auburn Jam Band.
You can also visit Santa’s Grotto (all children receive a free gift from Father Christmas), and at 5pm you can come and sing with us around the Christmas Tree as we celebrate the lights coming on, marking the beginning of the festive season in Raynes Park.
So get yourself down to central Raynes Park to celebrate an afternoon of Christmas cheer from 3.30pm.
