Take Your Under-Four To Three Colours

Summer performance at the Polka

This summer, children are being offered the chance to bask in a wondrous world of colour, music and imagination at Three Colours, Polka Theatre's interactive new show for ages 2 – 4, in the Adventure Theatre.

Three Colours is said to be a vibrant, fun, performance designed to stimulate and delight the senses. Placing children at the centre of the experience, they will be drawn into different worlds created using the three colours of light - red, green and blue.

Polka Theatre is co-producing the new show with the Norwich Puppet Theatre. Directed by Joy Hanes, Three Colours fuses movement, light, interactive projections, puppetry and music into an immersive multi-sensory environment. Created especially for an early year's audience, Three Colours is the perfect, gentle introduction to theatre.

Children will be tickled by the magical locations that are created around them by two performers, colour and sound. Audiences swim into the deep blue sea where they meet some graceful jelly fish; experience the flickering and crackling of a red fire and the juicy sweetness of a ripe, red strawberry; and feel the springy green grass underfoot whilst listening to the sound of a 'ribbiting' frog!

Jo Belloli, Polka Theatre's Associate Producer for Early Years said of the project: "We're delighted to be collaborating with Norwich Puppet Theatre and Joy Haynes who has previously directed at Polka and who, as a performer, has a longstanding relationship with us.

"Three Colours draws upon Joy’s expertise in object manipulation, puppetry and animation and is the culmination of two years of research and development with a range of national and international artists, young children and their teachers."

Three Colours runs at the Polka on the Broadway in Wimbledon from June 26-August 17.
