Police Hunt For Man Who Drives Off With Officer On His Bonnet

Shocking footage shows Wimbledon officer lucky to escape with minor injuries

A Wimbledon policeman bravely clung onto the bonnet of a car driven at speed by a man police were trying to speak to in the Waitrose town centre car park on Tuesday (June 13).

They have released a photo of driver Sean Clarke-Arrindell (right) who they were trying to arrest when the shocking incident took place.

The police officer was lucky to receive only minor injuries when he was thrown from the bonnet as it was driven off at speed.

Another officer tried to hold onto the side of the car when Clarke-Arrindell refused to stop and drove off out of the car park in Alexandra Road.

Merton Police said in a statement: "Luckily the officer is now recovering from the minor injuries he sustained. If you see Mr Clarke-Arrindell or have any information as to his current whereabouts please call 101 or 999 in an emergency."
