Fire brigade called to clear the road at busy junction
There were morning rush hour delays in Wimbledon town centre today (October 17) after a car overturned onto its side at the bottom of Wimbledon Hill Road.
London Fire Bridgade were called to help clear the road following the incident at the junction with Worple Road.
There were a similar spate of accidents at the junction after the road was re-modelled in 2011, including a new bollard to protect pedestrians in the middle of the road.
It was re-configured again in 2012, by doubling the height of the bollard and installing new signage, after reports of eight accidents in three months.
