'Far From The Home I Love' recital in aid of refugee groups
International pianist Margaret Fingerhut has devised a special concert that she will perform in Merton Park to raise awareness of the needs of refugees in the UK as well as funds for refugee groups.
Her piano recital ‘Far From The Home I Love’ will be performed in St Mary’s Church, SW19 3HJ on Wednesday (February 6) at 7.30pm.
The programme will include music by composers who were forced to leave their homeland, such as Chopin, Grieg and Prokofiev, as well as the Refugee Team’s national anthem written by Moutaz Arian, a Kurdish Syrian composer, for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Specially prepared Syrian refreshments will be available in the interval. The event costs £25, with tickets available from Ticketsource.
