Olympic bosses to give you an update
Merton residents and businesses have the chance to catch up on the London 2012 Olympic plans at a public meeting on Thursday (October 28) in the council chamber at the Civic Centre, Morden.
Kicking off at 8pm, the Local Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) will be showing a presentation with Go South Go (South London Partnership) about Merton’s involvement with the Olympics as a host borough.
Residents will be welcome to ask the experts questions about how the London 2012 Games will impact on Merton with all the benefits and opportunities they are bound to bring.
Merton Council cabinet member for community and culture Councillor Martin Whelton said: "Merton is proud to be one of the London 2012 host boroughs. This meeting is a good opportunity to hear from the public their thoughts on our plans for the Games. It also provides a chance for local businesses to speak to representatives from the council and Olympic organisations about what the Games will mean to Merton."
