Join The Massive Merton Easter Egg Hunt
Windows will be full of children's Easter artwork
Everyone can help bring some Easter joy to the children of Merton this weekend by joining in the Massive Merton Easter Egg Hunt, says the Mayor of Merton.
It’s a hugely challenging time for youngsters, who would have been looking forward to all the joys of Easter Bunnies and egg hunts this weekend, and so instead Merton Council is inviting all children to help create a trail of colourful eggs in the windows of homes across the borough.
The aim is that children can still enjoy some Easter fun, while sticking to the rules of social distancing required to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus and helping to save lives. All residents can enjoy hunting for the colourful additions to homes while taking their allowed daily exercise.
All youngsters are invited to get creative by either colouring in this Eggs in windows template or by crafting an egg out of anything they find at home – lego, scraps of material or discarded paper.
And remember the important part - don’t confine your children's’ creations to the fridge and viewing by your own household – pop them in your front window, porch, garden or balcony for everyone to see.
The council is hoping that as many people as possible can promote their families work on social media and let everyone know by tagging any posts with #MertonTogether #EggsInWindows.

The Mayor of Merton, Councillor Janice Howard, said: “It has been such a challenging time for children and families, and so it would be fantastic if everyone could get together and help create some Easter joy despite these times of unprecedented social restrictions to keep everyone safe.
“I know many youngsters would have been looking forward to the surprises the Easter Bunny can bring and having fun with their friends on an Easter Egg Hunt, and so I hope the Massive Merton Easter Egg Hunt will go some way to bring the joys Easter and Spring to our resident's homes and neighbourhoods. I too was particularly looking forward to seeing families enjoying themselves at the Mayor of Merton’s annual Easter Egg Hunt at Morden Park.
