Suzanne Evans aims to represent UKIP in Shrewsbury

Former Wimbledon councillor Suzanne Evans is to stand as a UKIP candidate in Shrewsbury in the general election.

Ms Evans (left), who defected from Conservatives to UKIP during her time as a Merton councillor, lost her Hillside ward in the recent local election.

She is UKIP's Communities Spokesman and hails from the Shrewsbury area.

Ms Evans was in the national news after the local election when she blamed UKIP's poor showing in London on the capital’s electors being "more media-savvy, well-educated" than the rest of the country.
