Fundraising evening for group who bring chamber music and jazz to Merton
The Jigsaw Players, who perform chamber music and jazz around Wimbledon, are celebrating their 10th birthday with a fundraising evening in the Village.
It takes place on Thursday September 20 at the Light House Restaurant, 77 The Ridgway, SW19 4ST.
The event, which starts at 7.30pm and costs £35, includes a candlelit three-course meal devised by chef Chris Casey and a musical programme of Mozart, Piazzolla, Dvorak and Handel Halvorsen.
There will be a glass of fizz upon arrival as well as a raffle and auction, including this Sarah Manolescue painting of Richmond Park.
JPCS, a not-for-profit concert series based in Wimbledon, are aiming to raise £15,000 in a season-long fundraising campaign.
This season they will run further free educational workshops for children, and have secured their first partnership with a local school - Wimbledon High School, where they will hold workshops and concerts.
In June they aim to launch "Estival!", a free open-air, one-day classical and jazz festival in Wimbledon, the first in a "Jigsaw for Free" Series.
JPCS will also continue to sponsor young up-and-coming jazz and classical ensembles, and subsidise all concert ticket prices, to help ensure music is accessible to all in Merton.
