Man Charged After Seven-Year-Old Girl Dies in Raynes Park

The seven-year-old girl who was found critically injured by emergency services in Raynes Park has died from her injuries in hospital.

A fifty-five year old man had been charged with attempted murder before the girl died at 10.37pm on Saturday, 4 November.

Police and paramedics were called to an address on Blenheim Road at 8am on Friday, 3 November where the girl was found with injuries which were deemed to be life-threatening. Police officers arrested the man who was taken to a south London police station. The injured girl was been taken to a south-west London hospital.

The man, who was known to the victim, is not being named at this stage in order to protect her identity. He was charged on Saturday, 4 November, with the attempted murder of a child in Merton and appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on the same day. The victim's next of kin have been informed.

No other suspect is sought by police in connection with the incident
