Colliers Wood Chorus: Songs Reflecting On the Great War

"It will all be over by Christmas"...

When war broke out in August 1914, many said that it would be "over by Christmas". By the end of the year, however, it became clear that this would not be the case.

Presented jointly with virtuoso contemporary trio Cherry Mint Koala and Attic Theatre Company's vivacious Going For A Song group, the first half of the programme on Sunday (November 30) features songs that made the Tin Pan Alley hit-list in the early war years, while the repertoire in the second half also draws from other periods and features the première choral performance of Mark Northfield's “Let The Body Go.”

Tickets for the event in Christ Church, Christchurch Road, Colliers Wood are £5, or £1.50 for under 16s - available from Colliers Wood Chorus members, reservable by email, and at the door, subject to availability. Facebook event page here. Please note the start time of 5pm; doors open at 4:30pm.

Refreshments will be available beforehand and during the interval.
