Boost For Merton Chamber's Take One Apprenticeship Scheme

Year-long sponsorship partnership to promote initiative

Merton Chamber of Commerce is working in partnership with South Thames College to promote apprenticeships under its Take One brand, as part of a year long sponsorship partnership, and with two key events for businesses.

The first event took place as a morning breakfast event, looking at how local businesses can benefit from apprenticeships and the impact that the digital apprenticeship service and the apprenticeship levy will have.

Teresa Frith, Senior Skills Policy Manager at the Association of Colleges discussed the recent apprenticeships update from the Government and what this means for businesses.

And kicking off early 2017 will be a ‘Myth busting business briefing in Merton’ - organised and managed by Merton Chamber of Commerce.

Take One has engaged over 300 Merton businesses through presentations and discussions about apprenticeships, securing a commitment to finding out more. It has provided over 130 businesses with capacity building and one to one support to engage in apprenticeships.

The new partnership will focus on a campaign approach throughout the year to promote apprenticeships and employment to the South West London business base.
