Wimbledon To Host The Aegon British Tennis Tour

Free event runs all week and starts on Saturday

This summer, more than 160 British tennis players will be competing at Kings College in Wimbledon Village as part of the Aegon British Tour from Saturday (May 28).

The week-long tournament is an opportunity to see the national and international tennis stars of the future in action – for free!

Andy Murray, Kyle Edmond and Tim Henman have all been previous winners of the Aegon British Tour. The Tour is the ‘nursery’ of young British talent, where players preparing for international tournaments get the practice needed for the international stage.

Ernesto Pinto, LTA official and organiser of the tournament said: “For so long tennis has been seen as the sport of the few. We want to change that perception – tennis is for everyone. But to produce more champions we must inspire our children and young people. This is a chance for tennis fans and families to experience the thrill of a live tennis tournament, in the local area and free.”

Doors will be open from 9am to 7pm every day. For the full programme and more information email: info@wimbledontennisacademy.com.
