Northern Line Weekend Tube Closures Ahead

South Wimbledon and Colliers Wood stations affected

There is no Northern Line service between Morden and Kennington this weekend (Saturday July 31 and Sunday August 1), with a rail replacement bus service operating between Clapham Common and Morden.

The bus service is between Morden and Clapham Common, calling at South Wimbledon, Colliers Wood, Tooting Broadway, Tooting Bec, Balham and Clapham South.

Passengers travelling to or from Central London are able to use National Rail services to or from Balham and Clapham Junction, the Victoria line to Stockwell or the District line to Wimbledon.

Passengers are also able to use London Bus route 155 for journeys between Clapham Common and Stockwell, for the Victoria line, and Kennington for the Northern line.

Tfl warn that journey times may be increased by up to 40 minutes.

There is also likely to be a Northern Line weekend closure on August 14/15. But all weekend closures between Kennington and Morden (which had been due to take place on August 7/8, August 21/22 and August Bank Holiday Monday August 30) have been cancelled whilst London Underground is reviewing the Northern line upgrade programme since Tube Lines was acquired by TfL at the end of June.
