Cannizaro Festival Makes Welcome Return

Stars line up for popular Wimbledon event

The Cannizaro Festival has an impressive line-up as it returns to Wimbledon Common after last year's cancellation.

Taking place in the Italian Gardens of Cannizaro Park, from July 2-17, the event promises something to suit all tastes and ages.

Highlights include comedian Rufus Hound (below), winner of the final of the Let's Dance for Sport Relief series in March, who appears at the Festival on Monday July 5.

Sport Relief will benefit from the appearance of F1 pundit Eddie Jordan and his all-star band. Their performance on Saturday July 3 will be followed by a celebrity auction.

Soul singer Mica Paris appears on Thursday July 15, with other performances including an evening at the opera with Camilla Kerslake on Monday July 12 and a South African jazz afternoon on Sunday July 11.

This year's event will see a roof protecting some of the area, so the festival will go on whatever the weather.

There's also a selection of local restaurants and busineses supplying the catering, including Dalchini, Mai Thai, Roberts and Edwards the butchers, The Village Cakery and Butchers Bar and Grill.

More information is available on the Cannizaro Park Festival website.
