The 'I move freely' course starts 7th June
If you feel awkward walking, sitting at a desk or have a recurring injury, then you may get some relief from a new Pilates and Biomechanics class being run as a trial by The Wimbledon Guild.
The ‘I Move Freely’ class is designed to teach the skills many people need to help them move more freely in everyday activities.
The pilot six-week programme starting on Monday 7 June at 12.30pm, costs £2.50 per session and class size is limited to 12 people. Pre-booking is essential, call Jane Platts on 020 8946 0735 or email jplatts@wimbledonguild.co.uk to reserve your place.
‘I Move Freely’ is just one of a range of classes each week for men and women over 50. Other exercise options include Senior Exercise and Senior Keep Fit on Monday and Wednesday each week; Tai Chi and Qigong (chee-gong) on Monday and Thursday, and on Tuesday morning there is a standing and seated Pilates class.
Other classes at the Guild, which is a Wimbledon charity helping out local people, range from art to IT to digital photo editing and Chinese calligraphy.
For more details of these classes, which are held at Drake House, St George’s Road, Wimbledon, call Jane Platts on 020 8946 0735 or go to www.wimbledonguild.co.uk where you’ll find information on all the activities, clubs and classes at The Wimbledon Guild.
