Southfields Residents' Association To Host London Assembly Hustings
Candidates for Merton and Wandsworth seat taking part

A virtual hustings is being hosted by The Southfields Grid Residents Association next Monday (26 April).
Five candidates for the Wandsworth and Merton seat on the London Assembly will be taking part from 7:30-9pm.

The London Assembly vote is taking place on the same day as the Mayoral Election, on 6 May.
The seat is currently held by Labour’s Leonie Cooper, a Wandsworth borough councillor, who narrowly won in 2016 after the constituency had been previously held by the Conservatives since its creation. It is set to be one of the most closely contested votes in the assembly.

The Conservative candidate is Louise Calland who also sits on Wandsworth Council.
Roger Gravett from ReformUK, Pippa Maslin of the Greens and Lib Dem Sue Wixley are the other candidates.
A hustings for the seat hosted by the Putney, Wandsworth, Wimbledon, and Battersea societies was held on 20 April but was over-subscribed.
Riverside Radio will broadcast a live debate with the candidates on 27 April 27 at 7pm with a live video stream on YouTube.
