Sexual Crimes In The Borough Declined Bucking The National Trend


Gun enabled crimes disturbingly increased by 157.5%

Figures release yesterday showed that the total number of crimes reported in the borough has declined by 87 crimes (3% fall) and unlike national figures sex related crimes has declined by 8.5%, but disturbingly the number of gun enabled crimes have increased by 157.5%.

In addition to these an extra 211 domestic crimes have been reported an increase of 13% and homophobic crimes increased by 106% to 35.  The Metropolitan Police Service views the increase as a positive sign that people experiencing homophobic crime are reporting these incidents:
