We expect yourselves - as news "reporters" - to be less obvious in your (anti-Council/Labour) bias and also not unduly sensationalise headlines to boost your circulation at the cost of community harmony! Standard reporting practice of statistics is over a year and not three years. Imagine the tabloids reporting that house prices have shot up by (perhaps) 300% over the past 30 years? Secondly, what the Merton Council Cabinet Member, Cllr Saunders, says seems justified anyway : I regularly drive in exactly that range of the road (opposite Centre Court) and I'd prefer even more rigorous traffic law enforcement on the rogue drivers in order to be fair to us, the law abiding residents. I wonder whether Merton Council should seriously consider introducing Local Congestion Charge on non-Merton cars. I'd like to hear opinions of your readers on this last point too. Thank you.

Point taken about reporting the increase over a year - so I've changed the headline to a 1,310% increase in a year. I still think it's a significant figure and of interest to Wimbledon road users. Thanks for starting a debate on the issue of a local congestion charge on non-Merton cars. It will be good to hear other people's opinions.
