Join the Wimbledon Interfaith Walk

The start of Hospitality Month

An 'interfaith' walk will be starting at the Shree Ghanapathy Temple in Wimbledon on Sunday (April 1).

The walk, organised by young people in Merton, will take in various places of worship.

Everyone wanting to participate needs to be at the temple in Effra Road to register by 1.30pm. The walk will end around 6pm.

It marks the start of Hospitality Month, when Merton Council and the Merton Interfaith Forum have planned a number of community events to promote greater understanding of faiths and cultures.

Councillor Edith Macauley said: "Hospitality is a means of encouraging engagement and involvement between communities. Doing fun things together like going on a walk or chatting over tea and cake can only be a good thing to bring people together."
