David Hasselhoff, now appearing in pantomime in Wimbledon, as been confirmed as one of the new judges on TV's Britain's Got Talent.

Hasselhoff, who is playing Captain Hook in Peter Pan at the New Wimbledon Theatre, will sit alongside Amanda Holden with fellow new judge, comedian Michael McIntyre.

Simon Cowell will remain on the ITV talent show as a part-time judge, only appearing during the live shows, while Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will continue to host.

Auditions will start in London on January 4, with the new series expected to start on ITV1 in late spring.

Former Baywatch star Hasselhoff has appeared on the panel of America's Got Talent, alongside Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne.

Peter Pan runs at New Wimbledon Theatre until January 16, and Hasselhoff will be appearing on the following dates: Sun 19 Dec (5.30pm only), Tue 21 - Thu 30 Dec, Sun 9 - Wed 12 Jan, Sat 15 - Sun 16 Jan.
