Charity walker's brave coast-to-coast mission
Fund-raiser Hollie Grant has raised around £2,500 by walking the equivalent of seven marathons in just a week.
Hollie (pictured right), aged 24, from Wimbledon, planned to complete the 190 mile coast-to-coast walk through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and then the Yorkshire Moors, from May 1-8.
She had to stop the walk made famous by Alfred Wainwright just one day early because of a bad blister and sore knees. But as most people tackle the walk in 14 days, it was a real achievement.
Hollie, studio manager at Absolute Pilates, Fulham, has also previously cycled from John O'Groats to Lands End for charity.
She was raising funds for two charities: The Braveheart Programme, which funds research into the psychological effects of war on soldiers and Worldwide Helpers, which works to set up links between those wanting to volunteer with low or no cost projects around the world.
Hollie said: "I managed seven marathons but couldn't do the last day as I had such bad blister and sore knees. I'm very happy with the result and the route was incredible."
