AFC Wimbledon's ladies' team is recruiting more members to help it get back to its glory days when it played in the Women's Premier League.

They now play in the London and South East regional league, which is three promotions away from the top flight - where they played five years ago.

As well as the first team, there are also girls' teams for every age group from under-11s up to under-18s.

Ladies' team manager Jeanpierre Kalebic said: "We have a number of different age groups and we would be delighted to hear from any and all girls that are interested in playing a bit of footie".

Training takes place in Cheam on Wednesday evenings (8pm-10pm) and home matches are currently played at Kingsmeadow, the AFC Wimbledon ground. But they are looking for a new home venue.

Away games are usually around south-west London, with matches kicking-off at 2pm on Sundays.

For more information, email Jeanpierre at or ring him on 07966-028107.
