Third Year For Popular Education Programme

Summer Uni 2010 gets underway in Merton this month, giving young people an extensive range of courses to join.

Young people aged eight to 19 (or to 25 for young people with a disability) are invited to join the scheme, which is part of a London-wide summer education programme and is in its third year.

There are more than 30 free courses on offer during July and August, from fashion and film-making to football coaching and web design.

Young people are encouraged to visit the Summer Uni website to see what’s available and to book their place in their preferred course, visit www.futureversity.org, email alison.craigwell@merton.gov.uk or ring 0208-274-5826/0208-545-3301.

The council’s youth centres are also offering a variety of trips, sporting ventures, cultural workshops, arts activities.  For more information about activities and projects available at Merton’s youth centres phone 0208-640-7050.
